End of the Year!

Hello everyone.
Can you believe that the year has come to an end. I sure can't.. I remember when I was put our of my comfort zone and pushed to do Kindergarten.  I was scared, nervous, and had little confidence in myself.  Now that the year is coming to an end, I am so glad that I was given this challenge because I took the challenge by the wings.  I love my kids.. I love my class. They progressed everyday. They are like sponges and I am so lucky to have them next year!  Ok... enough about me.. how about you?? How is everyone doing at the end of the year??  If anyone needs ideas or help, -please contact me and I will of course do what I can to help you.  Anyways.. thanks to Mrs. Brooks.. we are able to have our author's breakfast with no issues.. She really has done an amazing job this year and I am so thankful for her..
Everyone have a great night.. love, peave, laughter..
LOVE YOU ALL!

It's The Final Countdown....

It is hard to believe that we are down to our final week and a half.  It feels like it was only yesterday that I was first greeting them at the door for their first day of Kindergarten.  Of course, they are at such different points in their academic and social lives now.  The amount of progress I was able to witness with all of your children has been amazing.  I still can't believe this is a Kindergarten classroom.  Each and everyone of my students are invested learners who thrive off learning something new everyday.  As the year comes to a close we are working hard on editing and publishing our all time favorite writing workshop stories.  They have been diligently working with myself and Mrs. Brooks to proofread their stories to find missing end marks, upper and lowercase letters, making sure popcorn words are spelled correct and making sure our stories make sense and have a beginning middle and end. They are super excited to share these stories with you during our Author's Celebration on Wednesday June 15th at 2:10 in my classroom

Here are some reminder dates for you to mark on your calendar:

June 10th- Community Sing Along- 10:55 am

OOPPS... I made a huge mistake!

I was re-reading my blog, and all of a sudden June 13th popped into my head.  I ran over to my calendar and realized I had a PERSONAL day on that day! OH NO!! I am sooo sorry, but I do have to change the date of our celebration.  I have changed it to Wednesday June 15th.  I hope this doesn't mess up to many schedules! Again please accept my apologies.  If you have any questions, please email me!

Room 11 Updates

I cannot believe that we have hit the month of June.  Time flies when you are having fun and learning!  It has been an amazing year and your children have made more progress than I could have ever imagined!  There are a couple of things I wanted to tell you about the end of the year.  First of all, we will be having an Author's Celebration on June 13th.  All parents are invited, but due to space in our classroom, we will have to limit this celebration to parents only.  I will get back to you think week as to the time of this celebration. The children and I are so excited to share our years worth of writing with you.  We have a couple more Wacky Wednesday's before the end of the year.  Next Wednesday is Crazy Hair Day, followed by Blue and Yellow Day (School Colors).  These have been great and all the kids have been really into it!

On another note, The Scholastic Book Fair is at Beal School this week.  Our class will be going down tomorrow to look through the books. You are allowed to send your child in with money so he/she can purchase some books that are interesting to them.  If this is not the option you would like, you can come to the book fair Friday night with your child and purchase some books.  I will also have a wish list made for my classroom if you choose to donate some books.  If you have any questions about this, feel free to email me back!

Come back for more updates in last couple of weeks!

We have caterpillars!!! The life cycle starts all over again!

We couldn't believe our eyes!  Yesterday when we walked into the room, we were able to see about 1,000 little blue eggs all over our Hollyhock plant (thanks to Mrs. Godek).  The kids described them as little, tiny, cool, awesome, and super small.  We knew that soon enough, we would start the life cycle all over again.  To our surprise, when we walked into the room this morning there were thousands of tiny caterpillars climbing all over the plant eating, and eating, and eating.  The kids were so thrilled that they were able to witness the entire life cycle of a caterpillar/butterfly!
